The immune response involving the transformation of B cells into plasma cells that produce and secrete antibodies to a specific antigen. See Note at antibody.
2021-03-22 · Based on our data, it appears that the humoral immune response to SARS-CoV-2 in symptomatic COVID-19 patients is rather prototypical for viruses in having an early expansion phase followed by an

I denna studie presenterar vi en ny och effektiv protokoll för isolering av lymfocyter från Peyers plack (PPs), som därefter kan Its characteristically high mutation rate leads to escape from the humoral immune response induced by natural infection and/or vaccination and Immune responses to DCP-001 vaccination and effects on MRD will be monitored to evaluate the efficacy of this relapse vaccine.
In the current study, humoral immune responses were characterized in a cohort of 143 patients with COVID-19 from the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

(While B-cells are part of humoral immunity but I won’t be discussing this) There basically are 4 types of The humoral immune response is essential for host defense against bacteria. After exposure to potential pathogens, antibody responses in the respiratory tract can occur either quickly through activation of resident memory B cells if there has been prior bacterial exposure, or more slowly through the induction of both systemic and local mucosal immunity if the host is naive to the organism. The type 2 immune response is associated with helminth infections and allergic inflammation where antibody production of the IgG1 and IgE isotypes can elicit protective or proinflammatory functions. Studies over the past few years revealed important new insights regarding the regulatory mechanisms orchestrating the humoral type 2 immune response.

Here we review what is known about the human humoral immune response to epidemic SARS CoV and MERS CoV and to the seasonal, endemic coronaviruses. Then we summarize recent, mostly non-peer reviewed studies into SARS-CoV-2 serology and reinfection in humans and non-human primates and summarize current pressing research needs.
It contrasts with cell-mediated immunity. Depending on the kind of foreign invasion, two different immune responses occur: The humoral response (or antibody‐mediated response) involves B cells that recognize antigens or pathogens that are circulating in the lymph or blood (“humor” is a medieval term for body fluid). The infection causes COVID-19, a disease of the respiratory system of divergent severity. Here, the humoral immune response of a cohort of 143 COVID-19 patients from the University Hospital Frankfurt/Main, Germany was characterized. Methods: SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The infection causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a disease of the respiratory system of divergent severity. In the current study, humoral immune responses were characterized in a cohort of 143 patients with COVID-19 from the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
